Suggested Materials for Figure Drawing Workshop
Charcoal Pencils: Several soft (4B or 6B) charcoal pencils. Make sure you don't drop them, as the lead easily breaks inside the casing.
Conte: white conte chalk. One stick will last you a long, long time.
Sanguine: Basically a reddish brown pencil. Carbothello brand pencils work really well. There are many colors available, but make sure to pick out ones that are much darker than the grey of the toned pastel paper. You can get them at University Art or Art Ellis. Utrecht doesn't seem to carry them anymore.
Ppaer: A pad of drawing paper, 18 x 24 or similar size. White Drawing paper, or Newsprint works just fine.
Also, Medium grey toned Strathmore, Canson, or similar pastel paper, several sheets.
Drawing Board: Any kind will do, as long as they're not too flimsy. Make sure you have clamps or some other method of securing stacks of paper (NOT just single sheets) onto it.
Optional: You may work with other dry media on longer poses. Bring them in addition to the required materials above.
